ARM® Cortex™M Processor Workshop
Our friends at ARM have asked us to help get the word around that they are running a workshop on their ARM® Cortex™M processors. We are only too willing to oblige.
A growing number of fabless semiconductor companies are designing silicon around ARM Cortex-M processors for the first time, bringing the benefits of an efficient, easy-to-use, standard architecture to their end customers. In this seminar ARM present the latest ARM embedded technologies and solutions to kick-start those new ARM processors or AMBA® protocol-based systems and show you how easy it now is to upgrade to ARM.
The seminar will be held at ARM Headquarters in Cambridge, with presentations from experts in their field. There will be a chance to ask questions during the seminar and a follow-up to ensure any detailed questions can be answered fully.
ARM will finish the day with their mbed demo, which will be a robot race. For more information please see here.

Action Japan – new appeal
Helping Hands For Japan
A good friend and Action Japan member has told us of a new appeal to provide long-term support to those affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake. The charity has already had some success in fundraising largely from its Japan Experience Weekend. More information can be found here.
Helping Hands For Japan is a not-for-profit charitable organisation set up by staff at Into Japan Specialist Tours in collaboration with the Japanese community in Oxford. The aim is to provide much needed help and aid to the people in the earthquake and tsunami hit regions of Japan.
They will be organising a series of events over the coming months to provide on going support for long-term projects. You can contact them here if you wish to know more or get involved.
This website will be continually updated as event details and sponsored projects are confirmed. David Lee, who set up the charity to provide long-term support to those affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake, is shortly to visit Japan to start identifying projects to support. I am sure there will be a personal view posted soon.
